Feelings and thoughts for Week 1

Thanks Yee Zhe for this encouraging post! Yeah man! I have found myself very emotional these days as my body is adjusting itself psychologically and physiologically.

Of course, Saturday was my scheduled free day, which means no restrictions! Hurray! I like the plan as every sat, I can eat whatever my mum cooked without feeling the guile, though in smaller portions now.

Wow! Lots of steamed Rabbit Fish (with all the roe and creamy testes) and of course my favourite, braised tau kwa! This is the first time in my life that i felt so fulfilled with just a little food. It's simply... (more)

thoughts on Body for life week 1

Well, the challenge and mentality gets tougher as the days goes by. Ehm! Getting tired these days as the amount of food starts to decrease and the body is trying to cope with the reduced intake of sugars.

The occasional dizzy spells and the stomach is growling at times, but i have to bear with it! US$1 million dollars is not something that can be easily joked with. If I can maintain that enthusiasm for the next 3 months, I might become the owner of the Mesarati and the US$1 million.

I am at times tempted to take some sweets, but i will replace this with gallons of water. I was... (more)

there's something abt potatoes

My perception for potatoes have changed. I used to think potatoes are only good if they are stir-fried or as usual, home cooked style Luncheon Meat with potatoes.

Although most diets don't encourage consuming high starchy foods, including potatoes, this diet encourages the baked version. I am happy, because I do not need to regulate my diet that badly. I like my plan a lot!

I had a taste of broiled potato. No salt is added as I know that salt will make me eat even more. You know what, broiled potatoes are really sweet. I begin to like what i eat. By washing the outer layer, i... (more)

You know, after having the ice-cream, I have the motivation to exercise. I went to the nearest Buona Vista Swimming Pool. Looks like the toa Payoh swimming pool in it's earler days. Reminded me a lot of my childhood.

It's marvellous that I can sustain myself to swim 80minutes in the pool. Altogether 66 laps (3.3km). Marvellous! Albeit tiring my muscles are, my mind feels fresh as ever!

After the swim, i felt so refreshed. I really can concentrate on my revision and absorb whatever i read. i felt my efficiency rate has gone up! Wow!wonderful! And the supplements that I am taking... (more)

You know what! I had broke one of my rules today. Going to Haagen Daz! You know what? To have ICE CREAM! And I mean touching those fruit sorbets.I had 2 other friends who went with me, Vida and Leonard after my Freshmen Welcome Tea meeting. Even after some good advice by my senior not to go becoz fearing i might grow fat, I decided to go since I now can really make a better choice for low-fat alternative.

Yum Yum! Of I go! We reach there at around 4. It's quiet and the environment is good. Knowing the fact that we are not going for the ice-cream buffet, we decided to order 7-heaven,... (more)

Big oranges and Grapefruits with past experiences

I always have a sweet tooth, craving for something that is sweet. At this time of the period, I cannot indulge in chocolate and sweets. I realised that i have found substitutes for these cravings - Fruits! Yet I have to choose them carefully such that i won't overload myself with too much carbo.

After my gym session, I went to NTUC Tiong Bahru to take a peek at the items they have. they were selling Navel oranges (giant size) and Grapefruits that are of the size of a mini pomelo. looks like my stock of Grapefruit Essential Oil is about to use up and i need something to replace my hunger...
Great, i finally had entered a gym after an absence of don't know how many donkey months. Anyway, I like the feeling to be with friends when you go to the gym where you support each other and do the supposed exercise.

Jedidiah, my army and BMT buddy of 5 years had accompanied me to the gym today. After an absence of a few months, finally met him. Still so fit as ever. well, don't say about me. i have grown so fat nowadays that I can't really recognize myself (just a joke). Anyway, just realy hope o get back in shape the next 3 months.

And for the team - yeah, success is not far! Friends... (more)

Eh! It's off back to my room. I thought that I would be ab;e to reach my room early since there were no classes today. i thought i will be back at around 6.10.

Never did I expect that there is a big traffic jam at the NUH intersction. That costs me 20 minutes of my life. And hey, I would have got back to my room in less than 5 minutes if not for this. i was think ing about what my friend said about freedom by involving myself in some form of marketing.

A lot of things went through my mind and I wondered whether i'll would be in this area after graduation. Many uncertainties went... (more)

Trip to the Asian Civilisation Musuem

The trip to the Asian Civilisation Museum was not as pleasing as I have thought. The hot weather, the path and of course, my hunger pangs came to struck me again. That's kinda sad.

When I went into the Museum, surprised. There were many artefacts on display, ranged from sculptures, tribal costumes and so on. But I felt that the variety of items can be more varied, as the items on display were rather limited and repititive.

I had a feel what the Quran is like by listening to the audios. Surprisingly, though I am not a muslim, I had a sense of peace in me when i heard the recitation of... (more)

Yikes! I think I have broke the rules yesterday when I went home. my mum was trying to control what i was eating, yet I could not. Eh! the pineapple tarts that my aunt bought from Malaysia. In the end, i had 4 of these, almost equivalent to my palm size.

And that is the amount of food that I am entitled for one meal. Poor me!

In order to make up for the sinful indulgence, I decided to count down on my dinner. It's quite a tasty recipe. Maybe you should try it.

Yunjia's Salmon & Cheese sandwich (1 serving)

- 2pcs of Bonjour 12-grain sandwich (5.3g... (more)
